Download Document Builder Template

I received a call today about a Smartsheet produced PDF that needed adjusted - a field needed to be centered instead of left aligned. Unfortunately, I didn't have access to the original PDF that was used for the Document Generation template. Eventually, I was able to download the template from Smartsheet, but it involved a semi-complicated process (tracing when I pulled up the template, finding a Base64 string of the PDF, then decoding it back to the original format). I was then able to edit the PDF, replace the template, and everything worked as intended... but it was a pain to get that document in the first place.

Is there a supported method to downloading the template being used by a Document Builder setup? Hopefully I'm just missing something obvious.

As far as I know, Smartsheet does not allow downloading the original fillable PDF. 😅

So, I made it a rule to attach the original fillable PDF as a sheet attachment.
