My due date column won't sort properly

Hello! I have a large sheet with several categories, and each task line has a due date in the format xx/xx/xxxx. However, I can't sort by this column to see all tasks in due date order, regardless of what category they're in. Can you please help?

Are you able to provide some screenshots for context? Do you have dependency settings turned on for the sheet?
