Counting Columns based on if they contain certain words/names

Hey

I have a worksheet that has several columns, what I am trying to do is count 1 column IF it holds "specific text/words"

then to add onto this I need it to only count if a name shows up in 1 of 3 other columns.

I've tried 15 different formulas now and none of them seem to be working. I thought it would be as simple as a "countif with a contains (OR)" obviously thats not how id written the formula out

Can anyone help me out?

Where are you trying to put this formula exactly? Are you able to provide a screenshot for context?

Funnily enough whilst waiting for a response I looked through some old similair questions and found the answer to what i needed. It was actually you who answered it too :) countifs with "contains" worked a treat
