Identify project and project manager from project ID

I have a program made up of multiple projects. Each project has a RAID Log. Each item on the RAID log has a unique identifier with a three alpha prefix, "-", numbers. The prefix represents a specific project. For example: COM-102. All the RAID items for each project are consolidated in one complete RAID Log All with their identifiers. I have a data sheet with all the project names, the project manager assigned and the prefix. Can I assign the project name and project manager name in RAID Log All based on the prefix of the ID for that row? If not any suggestions how to assign project name and project manager name?

You could use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets, and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.

Thanks Andree. I decided to change how I aggregate the RAID log and no longer need to do this. Therefore, this question is no longer needed.
