want to create a tally sheet

Hi all thanks for any assistance you can offer

I'm trying to create a tally sheet that reads from a couple column in another sheet and counts each individual answer.

So the first column is "contact person 1" and i want to be able to have the sheet count the numbers for each person in the contact person 1 column and then for "contact person 2" column and count them as well in their own sheet but I'm not sure if its possible and further not sure how to start.

Thanks for your suggestion

I started to experiment with reports it doesn't appear that a report can do what I want. I can get a total count of a column but I can't get a count of each individual person in that column with a report.

Is the contact column set to multiple selection or not?
