Auto Numbering
Hello fairly new to smartsheets and mostly stumbling around. I wanted to create a ticketing system for new IT admin request. I created a form. And then on the sheet that is populated from the form I created a column for "Ticket Number." I wanted to create an automation so that whenever a new row is added to the sheet (which means a new form has been populated) that it would modify the Ticket Number column and auto populate it. But I don't know how to do this. Is there any way to populate ticket numbers automatically so whenever a new row/ticket is entered a ticket is created?

Hi @kibister,
In that column you created for "Ticket Number", double click the column header and change the column type from "Text/number" to #Auto number. This way whenever an form is submitted (a new row is added), it will automatically generate a unique identifier. Smartsheet's resource (https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/1108408-auto-numbering-rows) is very handy if you want to take it to the next step and incorporate dates into your ticket numbers too :)

What if the auto number beyond the limit? For example: the original setting was 3 digits like 001.
What happen if it breaches to 1000?
