Contact list in Form not Allowing Entry not in List

Hello,

I have a form that I created, there are a few fields which are contact fields, and I did not click on restrict to list values only. However, when I go to fill in the form, it is not allowing me to free text an individuals name, it lets your type in and when you hit enter or click out of the field it clears it out. Is there a way to use a contact list in a form and still allow for free text in entering in names that are not already in the contact list?

When it's a contact column, it has to be an email address.
