Hi,

In Smartsheet dynamic view sharing, how to allow the shared user to make edits? Is that via making the field required* in details panel?

And after any edits have been made, I believe changes are reflected back into source sheet as well. Is that right?

Thanks,

Mounika

You do not have to make it required for it to be editable.

Any changes made in the Dynamic View will be pushed to the source.

Hi @Paul Newcome - What about allowing users to edit the format of a dynamic view based on a Report? I.e. the report offers 20+ Fields for them to choose if they want to include or not in their dynamic views. They can then add or remove fields from the grid and detail views, and reorder them as desired...

    Is that possible?

On the surface, no. But you can get a bit creative with a multi-select dropdown in the source sheet(s) that feed the report and then use rules in the Dynamic View settings to show or hide fields based on the selections made in the multi-select column. Still won't be able to re-order any fields, but that does allow them to show/hide certain fields in the Details panel.
