Trying to copy information from a data mastersheet when there is one unique marker
Hi - we have a master data sheet where data is entered by form, or manually.
We are trying to produce a second data sheet, that copies cell information from a Master Data Sheet cell from one column, to the second data sheet, when the master sheet data in the column matches the word "Pick Up"
We need to do this across multiple columns in the master data sheet when the word "Pick Up" is entered into one column, to pull particular information from other columns as well. Ie:
- if "Pick Up" is entered into Column 2, then copy column 2 cell in same row
- if "Pick Up" is entered into Column 2, then copy column 4 cell in same row
- if "Pick Up" is entered into Column 2, then copy column 5 cell in same row
- if "Pick Up" is entered into Column 2, then copy column 6 cell in same row
We need to apply the formula to an entire column in the second data sheet, so it automatically copies data when data is entered into the Master Data Sheet. We think we will have to adapt the correct formula for the additional columns to automatically copy the data the other columns, but open to suggestions if there are other ways to achieve this. We have too much information in the master data sheet to create a dashboard, and need the second data sheet to focus on displaying the information we need related to "Pick Up"
We are trying various INDEX and MATCH, but it won't let us do it by column. We have tried automations, but it only let you move entire rows, and we don't need all the other columns from the Master Data Sheet (as we need to add additional columns to the second data sheet to prepare a dashboard report)
Please help...

When you say "we are trying various INDEX and MATCH, but it won't let us do it by column", are you saying that you were able to get the INDEX/MATCH to work on a row and then want to apply that to the column, as a column formula?
Hope this helps and that you have a great day,

Yes, it worked as a cell / row formula, but not as a column formula?
