Conversations, At-Mentions & when to expect Email alerts to Responses

Wanting to understand when a user should expect to receive an email alert in various comment response scenarios...

I post a comment and use an at-mention.

That user responds directly from the email and I receive an alert that they responded (whether they at-mention me in their response).

However, when that user opens the Smartsheet and replies/responds directly from the comment field in the Smartsheet....

Should I receive an alert that they responded (whether or not they at-mention me in their response)?

My test isn't producing an email alert when a response is entered directly in the Smartsheet and I'm hoping you can help clarify.

Hi @Mary Farmer,

From my experience, I believe that if the user opens the sheet and then uses the reply option to reply inline to your comment then you do receive a notification. If they add a new comment it would not notify you unless they @ mention you.
