Notification when a sheet is updated from an Update Request
I send quite a few Update Requests to students. I have not found a reliable way to receive notification that a student has responded. On my own workflows, I add a Student Comments field and use conditional formatting to notice when the field is not blank. However, they do not always read the instructions and leave the field empty or use highlight changes to see changes.
I need to create a solution for my boss who rarely uses Smartsheet. I would like to find a more reliable system to notify him when an Update Request has been completed. Has anyone found a reliable way to get a notification to a completed Update Request?
Thanks,
Jill Freuden, Washington State University

I hope you're well and safe!
I'd recommend adding a checkbox so the submitter can check it before they submit the update.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Thank you for the reply. I wonder if that would work better than the field where they type a comment; it is definitely worth a try. I wish there was a way to make a field REQUIRED in an Update Request.
