Critical path & parent rows

I have a parent row (e.g. Testing) where the children (e.g. test 1, test 2, test 3,...) are performed in parallel & have the same finish date, so I often link the successor task(s) to the one parent row vs. each individual test task rows. Sadly, my critical path stops at the successor task when the predecessor is a parent row. Since the parent row shows what I need, I would like to avoid creating an additional task (e.g. All tests completed) row solely for this purpose of getting the critical path to work. Are there any other suggestions or workarounds?

I personally cannot think of a different workaround at this time, but I understand your use-case and why this may be frustrating.
