Distinct names with distinct dates

Id like to find a sheet summary formula for distinct dates that an event took place (date column), but Id like to eliminate multiple events with the same person (name column) on any distinct date, and count events that occurred on the same dates with different people.

An example:

10 different people hosted events in March. Two of those events were hosted by different people (Mark and John) on the same date. Id like to count those two events separately so both people get credit.

Id also like to make sure that if just John hosted two events on one date, it is counted as only one event because it occurred on one date.

Is this possible?
