Creating a sheet from an excel?
I am trying to create a new sheet from an existing excel. I get an error in Smartsheet saying, " The Microsoft Excel file "Solution Requirement matrix.xlsx" that you are attempting to import appears to be invalid." Can anyone tell me how I can create a sheet from an excel?

Hi @tzaczyk
I hope you're well and safe!
Strange!
If you haven’t already, I recommend submitting a support ticket through the new Smartsheet Support Portal.
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Thank you @Andrée Starå , Unfortunately, I am not able to access the Support Portal either. I have asked for help getting this addressed, but I am certain it is low on the priority list. The support Portal, requires that I log-in with a user name and password, but our system is set up for users to log in using SSO, so to the best of my knowledge, I do not have a Smartsheet specific password.

Hi @tzaczyk
You can sign into the Support Portal with your plan's login - meaning that if your account uses SSO, you can use SSO to sign in. 🙂 If you try that and get redirected to the Help Article, there's a Form link on that article to submit a ticket instead.
In the meantime, for your specific "create sheet" error message, can you confirm the following:
- The file cannot exceed 50 MB
- Microsoft Excel files must be in .xls, .xlsx, or .csv format
- The first tab of the workbook cannot be blank
- Up to 20,000 rows, 400 columns, or 500,000 cells can be imported at a time
- Microsoft Project files must be created in versions 2007, 2010, 2013, or 2016 and must be in .mpp, .mpx, .mspdi, or .xml format

Let me know if any of this helped!
