where can a staff member assigned to a task write a detailed progress report for that task?

If there a way in Smartsheet to document detailed progress reports for a task other than attaching a document to the row. I am looking for something similar to the attached picture, in which the team member is reporting progress on the task. what would be the best solution for this?

I would personally use the Conversations chat/comments for each row to note progress reports. Then in the grid of your sheet you could use the "Latest Comment" column to surface the last update: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2482475-latest-comment-column
