Pharmaceutical Life Cycle Management
Hello, my name is Louis and I work in Life Cycle Management for a rare disease pharmaceutical company. In my role, I use Smartsheet to translate the impact of project activity on our commercial products to the supply chain business. We detail project milestones, regulatory strategies and product demand to visualise regulatory submission/approval timeline and anticipate/mitigate impacts to supply chain.
I have a 3-tier control centre platform that provisions project & program folders/dashboard and automatically incorporate in to a portfolio level reporting. We make used of Data Shuttle and Data Mesh to import product demand data which is automatically connected to the projects provisioned by control centre. We work across the organisation using Dynamic View to collect key cross-functional inputs/updates to maintain the project/programme/portfolio dashboards.

That's a cool way to utilize the platform. Were you able to make a useful dashboard as a high-level view of project(s) and/or milestone(s)?

Thank you for the feedback @Sam C. We have a portfolio level dashboard targeted at senior stakeholders with only high level/escalated items surfaced. We then have a program level dashboard for each of our products detailing all the Life Cycle Management activity on that product. Lastly we have dedicated project level dashboards for every project happening on a product.
control Center integrates the projects into the program and portfolio level automatically, it’s really powerful. -
Hey Louis, I agree that's a really cool use-case for Smartsheet. I've seen & helped to develop multi-tier SCC solutions for Life Cycle Management in Pharma/BioTech companies, but I don't think I've seen the integration of product data into those solutions w/ Data Shuttle & Data Mesh.

Due to the volume and pillar of Smartsheet WorkApps, I provisioned my device with VS and Python to automate the creation of all artifcats (e.g., sheets, reports, dashboards, permissions, etc.).
I am finding benefits and pitfalls where the API limits on what action can be taken, but, the automation allows for quick Project Team Oversight stand up and shut down.

@cjtully - thank you for the feedback, integrating product demand data was a key feature for me. I wanted to be able to calculate the supply impact of regulatory approval timelines. It took a lot of trial and error to get something that worked. Once we had a prototype build the team at Smartsheet solutions make it scalable.
