Whys some contacts have parentheses and some don't?

Inconsistency with contacts receiving pdf, some get it, some don't. I believe my triggers are working and functioning correctly. Curious if I set up "my Smartsheet" contacts incorrectly. There is also opportunity to add contacts on some sheets from my company index, I have no control of this.

Has anyone had any issue with contacts being inconstant with how alerts are delivered: either workflow or sending attachments?

Are the users not receiving the notifications shared to the sheet?

The reason that some users' emails are shown in parentheses is that their contact has been set up with first and last names, the email address is then shown in parenthesis, but if no contact name is present it only shows the email.
