Calculation to work out the date of x weeks out from a start date

I am trying to work out a a date that is x weeks before a start date. what cacluation do I use?

It you have your column type of date, you can use:

=[Target Submit for Comment Date]@row - # of days you want it to be prior.

Thank you, but that is not too clear for me - see screen shot below

"Weeks from Conference" is a text field, "Days calculated" is just number of weeks x 5 (to get working days) then i wanted to somehow work out what that "Date of Weeks Out" field is by somehow calculating Start Date less days calculated - but cant work it out. If you can give further clarity I would appreciate it.
