Auto refresh dropdown list values

When creating a droplist list column it will auto populate with values already in the column whether in the same sheet or sourced from another sheet. However, after the dropdown list does not change thereafter. Most of the requests to auto refresh dropdown lists and use them in forms arise due to the inability of the dropdown list to be automatically updated. While this can be achieved with the premium data shuttle app and multiple third party products it should be a native Smartsheet function and it's absence is a major shortcoming.

We really need this. We have a list of "Employees" that we use across multiple sheets. We like for these columns to be a drop down so no mistakes are made. We also have a list of inventory items that we use across multiple sheets. Same scenario, we don't want spelling mistakes or items that are not in the list added. We are currently updating about 10 sheets with drop down list.
