"Other, please specify" option to add text in dropdown list from intake form
I have created a form in Smartsheet and one of the required fields has a dropdown list. I need an option such as "other, please specify." How can I keep this in the dropdown list and have the ability for the submitter to add text to specify what other is?

Flip the switch on the dropdown column property that says 'Restrict to list values only'. Then just add a description somewhere using the column name or form items.

You would include that as an option in the dropdown menu and have a separate text/number column in the sheet / field in the form for users to be able to enter their free text. You can use field logic in the form to keep this free text field hidden unless the "Other" option is selected.

@Paul Newcome I was thinking about using that as an option but wanted to make sure there isn't a way to have it within the dropdown list
