Email Appointment Reminders to customers outside the organization

Is there away to have automatic emails to customers reminding them of their upcoming appointments. Currently I have a reminder email sent to me to call the customer. It would be alot more efficient if a reminder email would be sent to the customer.

You could create a 'confirm' column for them to check when they receive the email, have the automation send out a request update. Once they receive the email they can confirm and the data will feed back to your sheet.

Thank you! I didn't think about a confirm column. What I am having problem with is how do I set up the column in my spreadsheet so it will trigger this.

I know it has been a while and you probably already solved for this, but I did something similar. I created a helper column set as a checkbox with a formula in it. The formula essentially checked the box when the Date column was 3 days out. That checkbox then triggered an automated email to the address listed in the Contact column.
