Locking My Sheet

I want to be able to lock a column in my sheet so that everyone can access the sheet without being able to edit it at all. I chose "lock column" because I though that's what it would do, but everyone with access to the sheet is still able to edit the cells. How can I make it so that no one can have access to edit the cells?

Do you want to prevent users from accessing the sheet for which the forms are created? I think you can not. The shared users can still access the links to forms in the image. The forms are what you give users to add data without having access to the sheet.

You can hide the "Link to Form" column and show the link field with a formula when a checkbox is checked. However, you need to lock the checkbox column so that only you can check it when you need to access the form.

The [Link to Form] column has this formula;

=IF([Show form (Lock This Column)]@row, [Hide this Link]@row)

The link below is link to the read only published sheet. So, it is equivalent to locking the [Show form] column. No one but you or admin can not check the column to show the link.

You can check the 2nd row to show the link to the form, as the link is to the published sheet that anyone can edit.

I want my users to be able to access the "Observation Checklist Link to Form" sheet and have the ability to click on each of my links within the form, but do not want them to have access to edit the links themselves. I hope that makes sense. Let me know how you think I can do that!

Hi @KaitlynB

You can use the "Link from Cell in Other Sheet" menu to create a cell link-in from a sheet to which no one but you has access. That way, your users can access the form links but cannot edit the links themselves.

The link below is a published sheet that anyone can edit. You can see that you can not edit the links as they are the link-in-cells.
