Issue with sending automation alerts to external users

I am getting an error that we are having trouble connecting to Smartsheet right now whenever i try to add an external email address in the notifications on an automation workflow, if i use a company domain email it saves and works fine, but even though i have set the sheet as unrestricted i am getting this strange error and i need to be able to send externally.
Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Have you asked your admin to check the settings in the Admin Center?
From Google AI:
Smartsheet admins can control who receives notifications about alerts and requests by changing sheet-level notification settings. Here's how:
- Select Automation > Manage Workflows
- Select Settings
- In the Automation Permission window, choose a notification setting:
- Restricted (Default): Only people who can view the sheet and have logged into Smartsheet receive notifications.
- Limited: People in the Smartsheet account, as well as people who can view the sheet from within Smartsheet, receive notifications.
- Unrestricted: Anyone can receive notifications, even if they're not shared to the sheet.

We are having the same problem, and we are set for unrestricted.
