Dynamic View not saving

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to Smartsheet and I had set up a Dynamic View in a sheet, all was working well and being utilised. However I have now returned from annual leave and all of our staff have been unable to utilise this in my absence, it won't let anyone save the changes, it's greyed out. The only entries they have to make are £ amounts, dates and a checkbox. I have read about making changes to contact cells to make them read only, but that hasn't worked. Can anyone assist please as I need to get this rectified by tomorrow as it's holding us up. Thanks in advance

    Hi @Caroline Dunnell

I see a required field that is blank in your screenshot, as those are required the Dynamic View wont allow you to save until they have been populated.

I would suggest making all fields not required and then work forwards from there to see how you can get the fields completed and the data to save.

If those fields are not required to be seen, maybe hide or remove them entirely from the view and only leave the fields that do need completing?

    Hope that helps

    Thanks

Either those fields got set as Read Only in your Dynamic View Details Panel settings (per field setting), or they have become column formulas in your sheet, or the columns or rows have been locked in your sheet.

  • Thank you both for your help - all rectified now by making them not required
