Dashboard widget layering
Hello
I want to add a map (image widget) on my dashboard then use either a metric or text widget to layer on top of my image widget. Is this an option. Is there another work around?
For example i have a map of Australia i want to add to our dashboard, then i want to use text box widget to point out areas in Australia.
If this can't be done is there a way to add an arrow symbol to the dashboard so i can point to each text widget.
Thank you

Thanks Nico, can you recommend the best way to embed (ideally a free option). Thank you

I would hesitate to try to place arrow images on a dashboard, pointing at another image. As different size monitors render the dashboard you may find misalignment.
If it's a static image then the best bet would be to use any basic image editor to create the image with your arrow as part of the image, then upload that to your dashboard.
If you're looking for a dynamic geo chart, that's a different story entirely. There's no map widget or geo chart option in Smartsheet, but you can use the web content widget to embed one. Using Google Sheets you can create a geo chart, publish that chart, and then embed the chart in your dashboard. As the chart is updated in Google Sheets, it will be updated on your dashboard. This would give you dynamically filled or marked maps, however there's not an option on Google Sheets charts to overlay arrows and text and have it be part of the chart, as far as I know. You could play with it though.
If you don't have Google Sheets, you can also embed Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Google Maps, Excel360, Powerpoint360, Lucid Chart, and many other tools that you may be able to create and maintain a map in and then embed using the Web Content Widget. Here's the link to the list:
