Update from one sheet to reflect in another sheet using INDEX/MATCH
Hi all,
I'm a newbie and I really did explore every articles to find the answer but I still cannot resolve my issue.
I have 2 sheets Master Sheet and Master Client Sheet (Copy from the Master Sheet). I want to update the status column in my Master Sheet to be reflect in Master Client Sheet. I dont want to show all the columns to my client where I want to show only the Task, Status and Section.
The formula I tried is as below where I put the formula in the Master Client Sheet:
=INDEX({Master Sheet Status}, MATCH([Task]@row, {Master Sheet Task}, 0))
The error I'm facing is #INVALID REF
Please assist and you help is truly appreciated.

That particular error comes from an incorrectly created cross sheet reference. Here is a link that should help get you on your way to resolving this error:

Hi @Paul Newcome thank you for getting back to me man. I'm really sorry that I am bit confuse. My objective is to update the status from the Master where the status in the Client Sheet will be updated right. So if I use COUNT , I will get the total count, I am not sure how to link COUNT and my INDEX/MATCH. Below is the image based on the COUNT Cross Reference:

You would use the INDEX/MATCH, but you would need to create each of the {Cross Sheet References} following the steps in the article. You do not have to use the COUNT function. That was only used in the article as a base function to show the steps to create the cross sheet reference.
