Automation Adding Contacts Conditional Logic Issue.

Hello,

My smartsheet automation isn't performing tasks for each one of the conditional paths within the automation.

Within smartsheet automation i have a list of plant locations and whenever i select one or more plants, i want to create an automation that will add all the contacts for each of the plants selected. I currently have automation where when the plant location row changes, there is a conditional flow for each plant to add the contact names to a column for a respective row. Unfortunately it is only grabbing the contact names from the first plant and not any additional plants. how can i fix this?

I've hidden the names below, but each location has it's own list of names and if i select multiple locations, i want all names to be "assigned".

Think of this as a nested IF formula. It is going to run through the first true condition it meets and that's it. It will not run multiple paths at the same time.

My suggestion is going to be to create a table that has every contact listed down one column and their respective plant listed in another column. From there you would use a JOIN/COLLECT formula to pull together the string of contacts.

If you need them to be usable contacts for things like further automations or "current user" filters, you would use one of the methods outlined in this thread:

Thanks for your response.

Actually went down that route initially, hit a road block with pulling in multiple emails and I ended up on the thread that you specified. We haven't gone through route of paying for additional add-ons so I only tried the data shuttle method and that did not work.

So there is no automation method to check for each true condition option?

Potentially could I just have a separate automation for each location and check if it is true. I imagine that would work, but not very clean.

What was wrong with the Data Shuttle method? WE may be able to help troubleshoot that.

Separate automations would end up overriding each other unless you wrote them out for every possible outcome.
