I want to use a simple Index Match formula to capture data from another Smartsheet, but the issue I have is that the data on the other Smartsheet will be updated throughout the year. I do not want my data to be updated as the other Smartsheet is updated.
For example, I have a list of contacts that will get updated if someone leaves or someone is added throughout the year. There is no update date on the initial sheet. It is an excel import that will overwrite the entire sheet when the updated excel sheet is attached.
On my contact sheet I want to be able to pull in the current contact and take a "snapshot" so even if John Smith leaves and it is now Jane Smith, my sheet will show that on the date of contact it was John that I spoke to even though he is no longer there.
