It will be best to add to assign multiple baseline feature. This help people analyze the data from various point of time.

For example :

Apart from the project baseline,

Baseline 1 : Last Month update (August-24 update)
Baseline 2 : Current Month update (Sept-24 update)

The variance will help us to understand the monthly movement of the schedule
