Track new employee onboarding tasks + workflow
I need to create a Smartsheet to track new employee onboarding tasks.
The problem I am having is I’m not sure how I can track them based on hire date and then again by different roles (that has different requirements)
I would also like to be able to create a workflow to describe the steps in this process.
Does anyone have a template that might help and/or can assist me.

Hey Brittany,
This is definitely something you can achieve in Smartsheet, and it's something we’ve set up before. As a starting point, I’d recommend using Smartsheet’s cross-sheet reference formulas to track different roles and their unique tasks. This way, all the relevant data can be pulled together, regardless of hire date or role.
For onboarding workflows, you can also leverage automated reminders and approval requests based on the hire date to keep tasks on schedule. Using filters or role-based reports, you can create views specific to each role’s requirements.
