reports not writing to underlying sheet

Besides user permissions not allowing for it, what else would cause users not to be able to enter data into a report? They can enter the data in the underlying sheet and it appears in the report, but when trying to enter directly into the report, users cannot accomplish this.

Maybe you have locked the columns or rows?

In that case unlock them.

What type of access do they have in the sheet and report? Do the cells in the sheet have formulas in them?

@Paul Newcome The end user has admin permission on the sheet and the report. No formulas in either location where the same cells exist.
