I have a similar issue. I created a Smartsheet used by a specific group of people that receive alerts based on various triggers. The alert emails are showing them sent by a person that does work where I work, but has NO access to this Smartsheet, so it would not be possible for alerts to be sent from her. This person has never historically had access to this Smartsheet. Why is this happening?

Does this person happen to be the system admin for the account?

No. It is just a random person at our law firm.

    Hi @jfilut,

It’s likely that the automation is set up to send from the triggering user - this will mean that the From name in the email is the user who triggered the alert. As the From name user has no access to the sheet, it’s likely that they made a change to the sheet by submitting a form or completing an update request.

For more information about the sender’s name in automated alerts, take a look at this help article: Customize your alerts and requests.

    Hope that helps!
