I use AI to help me layout and create formulas in Smartsheet as best it can.

However, the other non-smartsheet LLMs aren't trained in Smartsheet yet. They're terrible at creating formulas in smartsheet :)

… and Unfortunately, I'd have to say that smartsheet's Ai is still in its infancy stages. It is difficult to get any non-noob answers from it.

    Happy Thanksgiving, Smartsheet Community! 🦃

I get so excited about pushing Smartsheet to new heights and discovering creative solutions. While I love exploring every possible way to maximize our platform (and yes, occasionally discovering its limits 😉), I'm amazed at how AI is transforming our Swiss Army knife of solutions.

Just last week, someone needed help with a complex formula. Using our new AI tools, we quickly optimized it for better performance. Their reaction? "You're a genius!" But here's the truth - it's not genius, it's about working smarter with the right tools.

Think of AI as adding a smart processor to every Smartsheet blade:

    • Optimizing complex workflows automatically
    • Crafting clear, professional status reports
    • Untangling those tricky formulas

Best of all? Everything stays secure within our environment. All AI processing happens in a secure platform. The AI tools are available to all customers now - I encourage you to explore and innovate. This community has always amazed me with creative solutions, and I can't wait to see what you'll build next.

Here's to working smarter, not harder! ☕

I am still learning of ways to use it in my daily work life. And I'm looking forward to learning more!

AI helps me to work smarter, and in my case, it's about checking the emails and texts that I write, making them more structured and impactful.

In the future, I wish AI could integrate several apps, files and my feedback and make it a thorough output.

Currently I find its output too generic.

In Smartsheet : I use the Smartsheet integrated AI tool to help me deal with formulas that have to do with time and dates. I am always struggling with those.

I needed to fine-tune a bit my prompt to get the output I wanted but it was a great result:

I also like the Analyze data AI feature ; simple, and gives a useful output:

Already using AI*, and loving it, for formula building, especially those that are in between super simple and super complex.

    • - I still think it needs a snappier name, and should be called SAILOR: Smartsheet Artificial Intelligence Learning Optimization Resource

How is AI helping you work smarter, not harder — or how could it help you in the future?

I use AI to roviding both High-Level Synopsis coinciding with Visual Graphics that would otherwise be created by exporting Data to Excel with a Pivot Table or with a published Dashboard, both of which are time-consuming to say the least.

Many of our users—licensed or otherwise—have limited knowledge of formulas & functions or use those that are not the most efficient to create the same result (nested if statements versus sumproduct or summing specific lines or cells instead of using formulas with parent-child hierarchies or countifs or sumifs that could and will accelerate their work that I know that AI Formula Generation could finally enable them to achieve what they get otherwise frustrated trying to comprehend and learn, let alone utilise in their daily work, as well as gradually teach them the formulas and functions in the process.

    Thank you.

I have had good luck with AI with text-related tasks and image-generation based on descriptions. However, everytime I try it for data analysis, AI doesn't seem to be able to do it: either I get "Your Sheet includes too many rows and columns, please try it in a different Sheet" or it is unable to spot the obvious, for example "Please identify duplicate entries by using the Data points in the Name Column". When I point that out, AI would acknowledge that I was correct and when it reran, it came back with the same incorrect result.

Somewhat 'trust' but always 'verify' …

    I use AI sometimes for:

    • Converting data
    • Summarise data
    • Meeting Notes
    • Convert advanced Excel formulas to Smartsheet
    • And probably for a lot of other things that I don't think about that, it's AI
