Best way to dynamically represent a second critical path
I have a plan with a critical path which works fine for the latest date in the sheet, however, I'd like to be able to dynamically see a critical path for another /earlier milestone. Has anyone come up with any way to do that? A workaround I'm doing is a "Save As" and deleting those laster items out but that's manual and time consuming. It's a somewhat large sheet so having links is burdensome/having to reproduce all the relationships, add in new links, etc…
Thanks!

Hi @KLoom,
Would turning on the driving path for the earlier milestone work for you (within the sheet)? If the milestone has a predecessor, you can right-click the milestone in the Gantt chart and select Show Driving Path. Or, you could show it by right-clicking any of the sub-tasks that have predecessors.
More information on the driving path can be found here: Highlight the Driving Path of a Subtask. You might also find this helpful: Critical, Summary, and Driving Paths.
Hope that helps!

Hi @KLoom
To dynamically track a second critical path for an earlier milestone, one option could be to create a filtered view or a report focused on tasks leading up to that specific milestone. While Smartsheet doesn't natively support multiple critical paths, a report can isolate the tasks for that earlier milestone without needing to delete or duplicate rows.
Another approach could be using conditional formatting to highlight tasks leading to the earlier milestone, giving you a quick visual representation of its path.
Let me know if you'd like help setting this or anything else up.

How could you setup a report to trace back all the predecessors of an activity (the predecessors of the predecessor)?
