External sheet users need QR code
Recently I've been asked about a QR code to log into a shared sheet.
I send monthly metrics reminder out each month and have my contractors enter the data into the sheet that they have been provided edit permissions on.
One of the contractors made me aware that he must do a QR code each month when he has to update metrics. I have a new contractor that is sharing the same message.
Being a user of Smartsheets for about 4 years and using the tool to obtain metrics from external parties has been working great. This is the first time I've heard about this and I have no idea how to direct them. I've never been informed of the use of a QR code.
Is this something new?
Are there instructions any where that I can share with them when they get this message?
Is the person expected to obtain a QR code every time the access the sheet (monthly)?
TIA

Smartsheet to my knowledge does not create QR codes to prompt external users to edit data. That is outside of any sharing settings.
Does your org use SSO? It may be a prompt from an authenticator like google or microsoft prior to signing into Smartsheet.
