Preserve Indentation/Structure of Rows After Removing Filters

Currently, when applying a filter in Smartsheet, indented rows stay properly hidden under their parent rows. However, after removing the filter, all the indented rows expand. For users working with large datasets and hierarchies, this behavior disrupts the organization and clarity of their sheets.

It would be incredibly useful if the collapse/expand states of indented rows could remain intact even after removing filters. This feature would help maintain the structure of data and save users from the time-consuming task of manually collapsing rows again.

Why This Matters:

  • Keeps data organized and easier to navigate.
  • Reduces repetitive, manual work.
  • Improves usability for users managing extensive, hierarchical datasets.

Suggested Implementation:

  • Add an option in Smartsheet settings to preserve the state of collapsed rows after removing a filter.
