How to create a sheet which uses Update Requests rather than Reminders

I somehow created a sheet with the option for Update Requests in the leftmost column (see image). My team would like to create sheets which take advantage of this function, but whenever we try, the option is only Reminders (the bell icon).

How can I ensure that the option for Update Requests appears when creating a sheet? Is it possible to make changes to an existing sheet to change from one to the other?

(We are using the Update Requests over an Automation because the columns that need to be updated are different for every case)

The icon in the screenshot is just an at-a-glance history of row actions. (Hover over the "i" to see an explanation.) The way you created a sheet with Update Request icons in that column is pretty straightforward: either a row-level update request was triggered or a sheet-level Update Request automation was created and triggered.

If you highlight a row, you can then right-click on that row and choose "Send Update Request" from near the bottom of the menu. You can also build update requests to be triggered for individual columns using the Automation menu.

    Good luck!
