Using a Gantt Chart to calculate a Start Date from an End [due] Date
I'm a Smartsheet newbie . . . .
We have a repeating process at work that takes us a fixed amount to time to complete.
I created a 'typical' Gantt chart with predecessors and duration in days and used a random start date to make sure everything is working.
It is.
Is there a way to take the 'typical' chart, change the end date of the final task and be told what the theoretical start date would need to be to be able to complete the process by the end date? My hope was that we could share this 'typical' chart with all our project staff and they could update it to meet each of their 'due dates'
At the moment if I change the end date of the final task, all it does is extend the duration, even though I have the duration column locked.
Thanks

You would have to set up your predecessors to run backwards (FS) from the end date instead of forwards (SF) from the start date.
