Can Created By Column be Wrong?

One of my users reached out because they received a notification in which they are ID'd as the creator of the project request, which they claim to not be. I checked the source sheet and they are indeed listed in the "Created By" column with a date about 1 month ago. You have to log in to enter requests in my form and I assured them even as Admin I cannot change this value in the sheet, but they insist they didn't create it.

Is there any way for this column to change or be incorrect? I have automations that can move a row to another sheet, but I'm not running any kind of data shuttle or other operations on that column.

Could they have created a request and someone else edited the details of the request? The created by column will record who created the row. The row can then be modified and all details except the creator could be changed. You could view the cell history of some of the other columns to check this hypothesis.
