Using the Project Management Dashboard Template
Hi all,
I'm a newbie to Smartsheet and am evaluating its use within our organization and so far I like what I see.
As a PM one of my tasks to do project status reporting and so I had a look at the Project Management Dashboard Template, this is a good basis for what I want to do. However, if I update the task dates in the data table in the project data tab then I find the task "disappears" off of the task timeline (the example task date range is 05-May-2016 to 04-Aug-2016)
I realise this is probably an Excel "problem" and so probably need to reset some value in the chart to sort this out etc
Can anyone help me resolve this?
Thanks!
Gary

Hi Gary,
I'm assuming that you're following the steps here to create a project management dashboard? https://www.smartsheet.com/how-set-project-management-dashboard-smartsheet
Otherwise, I'm not seeing a sheet template named "Project Management Dashboard."
If you ARE using the steps on our site linked above then I'm wondering if you're referring specifically to the dates disappearing from the report widget?
That would mean that the report builder criteria may need to be adjusted to include more dates. Reports will only display rows that meet their criteria, and once a row doesn't meet the criteria, it won't appear in the report. More information on creating reports can be found in the help article: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/522214-creating-reports
If you AREN'T using those steps, let me know what template you're specifically using or what site you were looking at and I may be able to assist further.

Hi Shaine,
Here's the link to the template I'm referring too (it's a downloadable Excel workbook)

which I found on your website here :

Thanks!

So nearly a year later, did anyone get an answer to this question? I have the same spreadsheet and I have the same problem - the date range begins at 5/1/16 and I can't find where to change that. The project data is current year.

* Never mind, I found it. the Format Axis value was set to the numerical value of 5/1/16. Once I changed it to the current year the graph bars showed up.
