I thought I might have understood permissions in smartsheet, but its not making any sense to me.
I have 2 workspaces.
Workspace 1 - Contains 1 owner and 3 admins at the workspace level. There are a set of multiple sheets, reports, and a dashboard within a folder and subfolders. This workspace is reserved as a template location so only the admins have access to the template and will "save as new" for projects.
Workspace 2 - Contains the owner, admins, Users with editor-can share, and users with view access. When a new project is created, it is done by right clicking on the folder in workspace 1 and saved as new into workspace 2. This task is done by an admin with access to workspace 1.
The problem im seeing is that a user who has editor can share rights within workspace 1 will go into a project folder within workspace 1 and the editor rights appear correct on the sheets and reports, but they are only showing viewer rights on the dashboard that is within the same project folder.
when the folder is copied from workspace 1 to 2, do the rights of the workspace only apply to the sheets/reports by default? Does the dashboards not inherit the rights when the new dashboard is added, or do the permissions need to be set on workspace 1 as well?
