Another Card View Filters question

Hi Community - need some help again. I have a card view based on a contact list. I also have a filters that selects dates that fall within year quarters. The card view works OK for those with rows allocated within the dates - it counts and displays them as we want, but I want it not to show a card when the person in the contact list has no allocation for that quarter - at the moment they're shown as 0 records stretching out on the right hand side of the screen . I can't work out the filter conditions to be able to remove those resource that do not have a record in a specific quarter from the view. I'm sure it has a simple solution - just can't see it. How would you resolve this one?

    Hi @RayB,

I’ve tested this on my end and can confirm there’s no way to remove lanes from Card View, even when they’re empty. I found the following similar ideas:

Please add your vote to these ideas if they match your request. You’ll then receive updates when the status of the ideas change!

However, you can collapse lanes and drag them to the desired place in Card View.

To collapse a lane, hover over the lane until you see an arrow pointing left appear at the top right of the lane (seen in the green circle in the screenshot to the right), and click the arrow.

To move a lane, click at the top of the lane and drag it to the desired place.

You can see below that I’ve collapsed the two lanes with no tasks and moved them to the left (the “Uncategorized” lane cannot be moved and will always be on the far left).

For more information on collapsing, expanding, and reordering lanes, take a look here: Use card view to visualize your project.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks Georgie - I have added my vote to all three suggestions. This appears to just be a 'display management' issue where zero record lanes can be hidden - I am hoping it is deemed a simple fix by Smartsheet 😃
