Hidden or outdated automation?

Hi there… So my supervisor is getting an email for a certain automation that has been updated and no longer has the message that she is receiving: "Please update my online sheet." No automation in this sheet has that message. Is it possible Smartsheet is working off of an outdated automation, or one that isn't being shown to me?

I'm also getting emails for things I shouldn't be, but I'm less worried about that since my supervisor gets a ton of emails and doesn't need junk.

hi @CHarter89,

This is a very odd behaviour and never heard of automations that are turned off / disabled / deleted to be still sending notifications.

Are you 100% sure you are checking the proper sheet? maybe someone made a copy of it?

Have you double-checked the Workflow ID? Does it match any of the workflows in the sheet? If not, add specific information through the Update Request and search for it. Then, you should find the sheet (as long as you can access it).

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the person who originally made these workflows is no longer at the company — but I've contacted Support to see where the workflow originated. Thanks!

ETA: I clicked on "go to the sheet" and it's not a copy, it's the original… but this workflow is nowhere to be found! This is so confusing! Do you have any other suggestions?

hi @CHarter89,

as you know the workflows can be pretty complicated and long. Did you check all the workflows with deep analysis to see if any of those do not send any notifications if there is some conditions met or as extra actions?

Hi Tomasz — Yes, I've double- and tripled-checked each workflow. They do not send the email output that is shown.
