Group Rows Automation based on unique column ID
I am looking if there is a way to group rows that share a unique cell (i.e. Quote #) into one parent dropdown. I am wondering as a workaround due to the fact that the "Copy a row" automation from one sheet to another does not update the existing row but rather adds another row for the same quote ID # in this case. We are simply looking for ways for automation to update a row from sheet to sheet that exists instead of making a new row.

Hi @Niccolo B.
A simple approach would be to use a report grouped by Quote #.
Sample data
Alternatively, you could use the Smartsheet API to check for existing Quote # entries, and if a duplicate is found, update the row and set the first instance as the parent row.
However, this would be a bit complex to implement.Let me know if you’d like more details!
