How to Edit Email of a Manually Added Contact in "Assigned To" Contact List Column?

Hi All,

I’m a System Admin in our Smartsheet environment. We have a sheet with an "Assigned To" column, which is set up as a Contact List column.

All contacts listed in this column are Smartsheet users from our organization except one — this particular contact seems to have been manually added by another user (not from our user directory).

I’d like to edit the email address of this manually added contact, but I’m not seeing an option to do so. Since I have System Admin permissions, is there a way to update or replace the email for that contact?

Any best practices or tips would be appreciated. Thank you!

  • You may be able to update the contact by following these steps:

    1. Navigate to Account Settings:
      • At the bottom left of your Smartsheet page, select Account.
    2. Access My Smartsheet Contacts:
      • Choose My Smartsheet Contacts from the menu.
    3. Edit or Delete the Contact:
      • Locate the contact you wish to edit.
      • Click the three dots to the right of the contact's name.
      • Select Edit to update the email address or Delete to remove the contact.
