Use Smartsheet row data to populate a Template

I am looking for a way to automate a process to take data from a single row in Smartsheet and populate a template.  Working in the construction industry, processes are slow to change and we still need to PDF documents for communication with our customers (RFI's, Change Orders, etc).  I have setup the forms and procedures for our folks to enter there information into a "log" (just a sheet), but need that same information to populate a template that can be pdf'd and emailed.  

I see the merge procedure with google docs, but we are not setup for google docs and the process is more manual than I am looking for.  Has anyone found or has Smartsheet added any new functionality with its recent update to assist in this?

Hello,

There currently isn't a way to automatically generate PDFs from rows directly within Smartsheet.

The best way to accomplish this is through the Smartsheet Merge integration we have with Google Docs, which will require you to set up the styling of the doc and designate where the fields will go, but after that automates the population of info and generation of the PDFs.
