Automation - Triggered Emails Not Sent in Batches

I am setting an automation for each row when triggered, that the store number and franchisee are alerted. My issue is that the same franchisee may be listed on other stores, other rows, but the automation is sending the email in one batch, not each line individually.

I need each store number to receive its own triggered email. There is a column that identifies each row uniquely by store number.

@Maria Hill I've been struggling with batch emails myself recently and would love this feature. For now a workaround I've done is to send the email as a request for an approval. These don't get batched and I can ask for them to mark the check box to confirm they received the email. Maybe something like that would work for you.

Hello there, @electrichead. Doing an Update Request, brilliant. I see it can be made an automation too. It did batch my emails when I chose "send from sheet owner." How do you set up a confirmation on their end? I only see approve or decline. Thank you so much!

@Maria Hill , use the three dots and select Advanced Settings. You have some (limited) actions you can choose there as far as the wording.

@electrichead, thanks so much, I am not giving them an option to approve or deny, it is just a courtesy email here is the date. For some reason if I sent the update from "Smartsheet" it didn't batch. But sending from the sheet owner batched them. I was super excited for a second.

@Maria Hill, anything over 6 items will batch. You can read up on it here.

It's not as clean as we might like, but here's one example of the workaround I mentioned by renaming the buttons under the advanced settings. You could likely word things better than I did for the example and if needed add instructions to click Open Request from the email. Or another thought, you may give them all the info right in the email and instruct them to only open the request if they need to request other details. Would take some creative thought around your scenario, but the point is it will avoid being batched. Below I used {{Project ID}} to insert the… well… project ID in the message.

One last trick… if you use a formula in a cell then the user receiving the message cannot edit the information. Requesting an Approval will want you to link at least one cell. If you don't have anything you want them to edit, make the cell you include one that has a formula. In the above example I used the created by field.
