Dashboard Widget Not Displaying Data on Save as New – Possible Issue with Cell-Linked Sheets

We're encountering an issue where certain dashboard widgets fail to load data from their connected reports.

✅ What Works:

• Widgets connected to reports that pull from simple sheets (with no or minimal cell linking) work as expected.
• The dashboard also retains the data source correctly during copy or instance creation.

❌ What Doesn't:

• Widgets linked to reports that are connected to sheets with extensive cell linking or even basic formulas fail to display.
• Error message shown:
  “Unable to display chart – source sheet or report can't be accessed or has been deleted.”

🧠 Question:

• Has anyone else faced similar behavior?
• Is there a known limitation with using cell-linked sheets in report-based dashboard widgets?
• Any workarounds or best practices to handle this scenario?

It sounds like you’re experiencing similar behaviour to that described on this recent Community thread. Taking a look there, I can see this issue is being investigated by our Support team. 

Please follow @Isaac Jose’s advice of submitting a support case about this issue and refer to the above linked Community post (as well as this one) along with parent case #08376858. The Support team will then be able to confirm if the behaviour you’re seeing is related, and they can track all related cases and investigate further.
