How can I retain a calculated value from a formula in the cell?

Above is the formula I am using to calculate the days past an End Date. When we change the Status to a Closed status, the calculated value of days (+, -) is changed to a "0" as specified in the formula, but I want to retain that calculated value. Can this be done?
