Metric Widget data source from a report

A report is not available to be a data source for a Metric Widget. I have a report that shows the one figure I want to be displayed on a dashboard.

I cannot convert the report to a sheet and cannot seem to get the report number on my report to the Metric Widget…

Can this functionality be added to use a report for a data source or can someone tell me how I can.

The report is linked to the workspace and so as new sheets are added, my report dynamically gets new data added. Specific links to specific sheets would not work when i add new sheets to the workspace. Can anyone help?
